Week Beginning 17th December 2007

Well, we're nearly there, the end of a very long and hardworking term.

This week is our last week in school in 2007 but as usual shows no signs of us slowing down. We have another packed week in store!

Let's start with the diary this week:-

On Tuesday pm the Year 6 children will be going to St Gregory's to video tape the drama they have been working on for the last few weeks. They will leave school at 12pm and have their luch at St Gregory's, therefore they will need a packed lunch. Your child has a sticker in their diary explaining this, please ensure you sign the sticker to give your child permission to leave school.

On Wednesday am we will be walking up to Church to practise our Carol Service. We will spend the morning in church but will return to school by 12pm. Please ensure your child has brought in a permission slip so that we can take them out of school. On the original permission slip this was going to happen on Tuesday am but we have had to change as there is a funeral in Church on Tuesday morning. The original permission slip will still be used for your child's permission to leave school.

On Wednesday Key Stage 2 will be holding their annual Christmas parties. Your child should have brought home a letter informing you of what they need to bring for the party. The children are also allowed to wear their party clothes.

On Thursday the Year 6 children were supposed to fo to St Gregory's to watch their Carol Concert, unforunately they have had to cancel this so we will no longer be going.

Friday sees our annual Carol Service with a twist this year as we will be up at Church. Parents are welcome to attend but there will be limited space as the whole school will be there. If any parents want to help with walking the children up to Church on Wednesday or Friday then this would be a big help.

With such a busy week there is not a lot of time for the curriculum but in the time that we do have we will be using it to go through the tests that the children completed last week. We will also be having some science review by getting the children to finish the planning of their lessons for the Year 1/2 children.
We also need to fit in making Christmas Cards, so it is going to be a very busy week.

Finally we wish you a very Happy and Holy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
See you in January.

Year 5/6 Team

A big thank you to all in Years 5 and 6 for such a lovely start to Christmas. The carol service was a lovely way to remember the true meaning of Christmas and I am certain that it will now become a regular feature in St. Vincent's Calendar.
Well done to all! Mrs Worrall xx
